SDE (Dallas / Austin)
Protect AI is seeking an early-stage engineer that will build the foundations of our product and help shape the future of the company. The selected candidate will work closely with the CTO and team of SDE and ML Engineers to build our products, with input on design, best practices, and architectures. As a SDE, you will build the backend, APIs, and workflow orchestration system that power the ML security tools, as well as build and optimize our Cloud-based CI/CD pipeline. Your role and influence will grow quickly as the company expands.
- Design, develop, and maintain software systems, applications, and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop solutions
- Act as a technical leader and mentor for junior team members
- Drive the technical direction and architecture of the software systems
- Continuously improve the software development process, including testing, deployment, and monitoring
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and security
- Develop and implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies and programming languages and make recommendations for their use in the company's products.
- Strong experience with Python 3 is required as well as expertise in at least 1 strongly typed programming language (Go, Java, C#, C++).
- Strong experience in software development, with a focus on building scalable systems and APIs
- Experience with building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-based environment
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence application development
- Experience with security practices, such as threat modeling and secure coding
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degree in a related field, such as a Master's in Computer Science or a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, is preferred.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, Go, Node.js, etc
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and neural networks
- Experience with security best practices and technologies, such as threat modeling and secure coding.
